Southcliffe (2013)

A journalist returns to an English town after a series of shootings, and the drama moves through lives before and after the event. This four-part discovery follows the damage around violence rather than offering an ingenious hunt for its perpetrator. It suits the True Detective viewer drawn to memory and community fracture, with an austere and deeply upsetting tone.
