Counterpart (2017)

An unremarkable office worker discovers that his institution guards a connection to another version of his world. Two performances by J.K. Simmons make identity a lived comparison rather than just a puzzle. The less obvious Pluribus route is bureaucratic secrecy and the fear that another system understands your life better than you do; it ended after two seasons.
