Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (2016)

Dirk treats coincidences as instructions; Todd would like events to follow a comprehensible sequence. The 2016 Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency makes their incompatible expectations part of a deliberately chaotic mystery. Todd's reluctance has weight because Dirk's confidence does not come with a usable explanation. Choose it when you enjoy a partnership that has to negotiate what kind of story it is living in, with violence and eccentric humour alongside the puzzles.
