Kaalkoot (2023)

Investigating an acid attack forces a junior officer to look beyond the easy assumptions being made around him. Vijay Varma makes his uncertainty part of the drama, while everyday misogyny keeps affecting which questions get asked. The case is distressing; its place here comes from examining the investigator's own environment as well as searching for an individual perpetrator.
