Prometheus (2012)

The US teaser released in December 2011 turns enormous spaces, brief bodily alarm and the returning Alien-style siren into one escalating question. Its refusal to explain is the attraction. The feature has striking design and a wonderfully unsettling Michael Fassbender, but its creation debate and expedition business disperse that concentrated uncertainty. Choose this comparison if suggestion is what draws you to science-fiction horror; the film's admirers may reasonably prefer the bigger canvas.
