His Dark Materials (2019)

Lyra's search for a missing friend reveals adults using institutional authority to conceal what they are doing to children. The three-season adaptation expands into a much larger fantasy world, but keeps friendship, trust and difficult choices central. It is more solemn and philosophically ambitious than Stranger Things. Choose it when the young characters' resistance to a powerful adult system was the part you wanted more of.
