Parallels (2022)

A mysterious event separates four French childhood friends into different versions of their world. The short 2022 series makes changed ages and circumstances complicate relationships that previously felt settled. It is a good international starting point for the small-town friendship side of Stranger Things, with a tighter focus on time and family rather than a large creature mythology.
