Orange Is the New Black (2013)

Orange Is the New Black begins with Piper's entry into prison, then steadily broadens the lives and histories it allows the institution to contain. Access to healthcare, work, food and contact with family depends on rules that do not fall evenly. Its mix of comedy and increasingly harsh drama is part of the experience. Choose it for the ensemble view of how a routine can look manageable to one person and become a crisis for another.
