Stateless (2020)

Refugees, a guard, a bureaucrat and a wrongly detained woman encounter the same Australian immigration centre from radically different positions. Stateless makes that shared institution matter: information can exist without reaching the person able to act on it. The result is claustrophobic and distressing rather than abstractly procedural. It belongs here for the gap between an organisation's categories and the people required to fit inside them.
