Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (2016)

The 2016 American adaptation treats apparently unrelated people, objects and disasters as parts of one bizarre design. Its pleasure is surrendering to an eccentric ensemble before the connections become legible. This is a colourful, high-energy alternative to solemn fantasy, with two season-level adventures and a larger future cut off by cancellation.
