Mr Inbetween (2018)

Ray Shoesmith handles other people's dangerous business while also being a father, friend and ordinary person with errands to do. Mr Inbetween makes the transition between those roles disturbingly matter-of-fact. Its short episodes leave room for small conversations as well as sudden violence. Pick it for the understated end of the fixer story, where a job's apparent simplicity says very little about what agreeing to it does to a life.
