Rectify (2013)

After nineteen years on death row, Daniel Holden returns to a family and town that have continued without resolving what his presence means. Rectify gives mundane encounters, unfamiliar technology and altered relationships time to become overwhelming. It is the slowest, most emotionally demanding choice here. The reason to stay is the attention paid to re-entry as an ongoing experience rather than a single scene of stepping through the front door.
