Frayed (2019)

Sammy's prosperous London life has depended partly on an account of herself that her Australian hometown will not politely preserve. Frayed sends her back with her children and makes the family home an awkward place from which to continue performing that identity. The period comedy-drama is rude and emotionally prickly. Choose it when the homecoming you want to examine is the collapse of a carefully maintained version of where somebody comes from.
