October Road (2007)

Nick Garrett returns after becoming a writer, only to find that the people behind his fictionalised hometown recognise themselves and have opinions about the result. October Road makes a professional success complicate the welcome it might have been expected to improve. This is the more conventional, romantic ensemble choice. Pick it for the awkward discovery that leaving gives you a story about home but does not grant ownership of everyone else's version.
