Funny Woman (2023)

An aspiring comedy performer enters 1960s London television and has to decide which professional and romantic compromises she can live with. Gemma Arterton gives the attraction and ambition equal energy. This is the period-flavoured choice for a viewer who wants relationships shaped by working together, with sexism and unequal opportunities complicating the apparently glamorous setting.
