The Confessions of Frannie Langton (2022)

A woman born into slavery in Jamaica arrives in Georgian London and becomes the person whose account others would prefer not to hear. Sara Collins' adaptation makes literacy, scientific authority and domestic service part of the struggle over her story. The four-part drama includes a central love affair, with enslavement, sexual violence and racist abuse requiring a deliberate choice.
