Paris Police 1900 (2021)

A murder investigation unfolds in a city shaped by antisemitism, nationalism and the political aftermath of the Dreyfus affair. The French-language drama's institutions are as threatening as its individual suspects. It is an unusually grim historical route, with sexual exploitation and graphic violence, and its fictional crime story should not be mistaken for a documentary record.
