The Porter (2022)

Black railway porters in 1920s Canada pursue different paths through a system that relies on their work while denying them power. Union organising, business ambition and family life make the period feel economically specific. Inspired by real histories rather than a literal collective biography, its one-season drama is a valuable perspective beyond the usual aristocratic drawing room.
