Stateless (2020)

The Australian detention centre in Stateless places movement under somebody else's authority. Refugees' histories meet forms, institutional categories and people with sharply different reasons for being inside the same fence. This is a distressing ensemble drama, not a gentle settlement story. Choose it for the point at which carrying a past becomes difficult because the system needs a simpler account than a person's life can provide.
