Ten Pound Poms (2023)

British migrants arrive in 1950s Australia with an advertised version of the future and discover the gap between a promised opportunity and daily life. Ten Pound Poms makes housing, work and relationships part of that adjustment. It is a period ensemble drama with romance and family secrets alongside the migration premise. Pick it for people discovering that leaving the old country does not remove the expectations they brought with them.
