The Slap (2011)

At a barbecue, a man strikes another family's child and exposes loyalties that the group had never needed to articulate. The original 2011 Australian adaptation follows different perspectives rather than assigning one reliable family spokesperson. It is a deliberately uncomfortable, finite ensemble drama about class, parenting and the people protected by supposedly private behaviour.
