Bombay Begums (2021)

Six episodes, mostly around fifty minutes, connect women occupying very different positions in Mumbai's economy. Pooja Bhatt, Shahana Goswami and Amruta Subhash give ambition and dependency different emotional textures. Allow about five hours: the value is the friction between the women's choices and resources, with sexual exploitation and underage drug use among the heavier material.
