A country-house hotel's head chef coasts on his reputation while his sous-chef absorbs much of the practical burden. Alan Davies and Darren Boyd make the difference between being talented and being useful the source of an unusually specific kitchen comedy. Its six-episode run is a lighter route through the ego and resentment that The Bear makes painful. The BBC cancelled it after one series.
