Party Down (2009)

Los Angeles caterers serve other people's celebrations while carrying stalled ambitions into each shift. The guest list changes, but the team still has to find a way to work alongside people it knows far too well. Its deadpan, often crude humour is a useful release after The Bear's intensity. Beneath the failed performances of professionalism is a sharp sense of what happens when a temporary job becomes a life.
