City So Real (2020)

Steve James follows a Chicago mayoral election through campaign rooms, neighbourhood spaces and people who disagree about what the city needs. The five-part structure gives apparently minor encounters room to complicate the political headline. It is an absorbing civic portrait whose strength is the accumulation of viewpoints, not a promise that one election explains an entire place.
