Kumari Srimathi (2023)

Srimathi needs to recover her ancestral house and decides that running a bar may be the practical route to doing it. Nithya Menen makes the gap between what the family expects and what the work requires warmly comic. The village relationships give her ambition something tangible to push against, with a capable woman remaining the story's centre instead of a reward for somebody else's enterprise.
