Trying (2020)

Nikki and Jason's decision to adopt makes them examine the home they can offer as well as the family they hope to have. The London comedy finds affection in practical support, imperfect relatives and plans that require revision. It is a good route from Ted Lasso's emotional generosity when a sporting contest is the least important part of the appeal. The adoption story has real uncertainty beneath the light touch.
