Lawmen: Bass Reeves (2023)

David Oyelowo's Reeves moves from enslavement into the compromised authority of a federal lawman. The eight-part dramatisation is interested in what enforcing a law means when the society behind it has denied your humanity. It shares a producer with Yellowstone but tells its own historical story, rather than extending the Dutton family narrative.
