Godless (2017)

An outlaw's arrival threatens a mining town where women have had to rebuild practical authority after catastrophe. The seven-part story uses landscape, work and the question of who can defend a community to refresh familiar Western machinery. It is a strong completed starting point, with sexual violence and brutal confrontations beneath the attractive images.
