The Rig (2023)

A dense, unfamiliar fog prevents the platform crew in The Rig from following their normal route back to land and interferes with their sense of what is happening beyond it. That interruption makes communications and transport part of the immediate conflict. Pick it for an industrial ensemble confronting an environmental event it cannot treat as a routine delay. The fog has a speculative cause; the resulting dependence on the platform's systems is the more concrete attraction.
