The North Water (2021)

A whaling voyage becomes an ordeal in which the Arctic environment makes an already dangerous group more dependent on one another. The North Water gives cold, distance and scarce shelter a physical weight alongside the violence among the men. Pick it for a compact, brutal period drama where survival changes the terms of every personal conflict. Animal suffering and human cruelty are prominent; this is not an inviting maritime adventure.
