Veep (2012)

Selina Meyer treats almost every public appearance as an opportunity that may become an embarrassment before she leaves the room. Veep makes reputation maintenance exhausting because the people supplying reassurance also have careers to protect. Choose it for relentlessly abrasive satire, not an uplifting account of public service. The most revealing moments come when a carefully rehearsed display of concern collides with the need to avoid personal blame.
