The Politician (2019)

Payton's political ambitions require him to turn his feelings, friendships and school history into a usable public version of himself. The Politician makes that exercise deliberately glossy and excessive. Choose it for a heightened satire of treating an identity as a campaign asset before there is much of a career to defend. Its characters can be calculating and vulnerable in the same scene, with sincerity another thing that must be convincingly presented.
