The Mill (2013)

The Mill connects young apprentices' working conditions to factory reform and the emerging struggle over labour rights. Based on Quarry Bank's history with fictionalised material, it shows how speaking together becomes difficult when the employer also controls food, shelter and the next day's work. Choose it for a period drama where participation has an immediate material price. Its harsh conditions make the organising necessary without making cooperation easy.
