When We Rise (2017)

When We Rise follows people working for LGBT rights over years in which the immediate needs and the political possibilities keep changing. Relationships, grief and different priorities make solidarity something repeatedly rebuilt. Pick it for a broad historical dramatisation that connects protest to the continuing work of sustaining a community. Its scale sometimes compresses events, but the movement is larger than any one protagonist's defining moment.
