Thief (2006)

Andre Braugher's robbery-crew leader has a dangerous job to finish while an unexpected family responsibility makes his usual calculations inadequate. FX's six-episode run gives the domestic and professional worlds equal authority. Its main heist supplies a compact shape, although the network did not continue the series. The performance is the reason to choose it over a longer criminal-rise saga.
