Underground (2016)

People enslaved on a Georgia plantation organise an escape that requires planning, trust and choices under extreme danger. WGN America's two-season series gives collective agency the momentum of a thriller. It attracted attention on its channel, so its cancellation should not be reduced to indifference: the network was changing direction. Slavery and severe violence are central, and the continuation remains unfinished.
