Manhattan (2014)

Scientists and their families live inside a secret military project whose importance does not make its internal politics any cleaner. WGN America's two-season drama used Los Alamos to examine ambition, marriage and withheld information. Its original audience remained limited, and cancellation left the broader wartime journey unfinished; the contained professional world is still unusually absorbing.
