Brotherhood (2006)

Two Providence brothers occupy different sides of public power: one works through politics, the other through crime. Showtime's three-season drama is most distinctive when a family obligation becomes an institutional transaction. It never acquired the broader profile of its famous cable contemporaries. The final season provides substantial movement, with corruption and violence preventing easy family loyalties.
