Halt and Catch Fire (2014)

If the first episodes seem to organise everything around another opaque, difficult visionary, watch the first-season finale and the opening of season two as the useful test. Cameron and Donna's partnership moves towards the centre, and invention becomes more than building one machine. Reconsidering the beginning reveals relationships that the later reinventions need; it does not require finding Joe immediately likeable.
