12 Monkeys (2015)

The film association and an apparently straightforward mission to prevent a plague can conceal the television series' own design. Try the opening four episodes for its use of competing timelines, then let the first finale test the larger direction. A return to early encounters becomes rewarding as later seasons supply context. It is a puzzle requiring attention, not a promise that every complication arrives immediately.
