Five Daughters (2010)

The three-part drama gives the women murdered in Ipswich everyday relationships, worries and attempts to change their circumstances before they become the subject of an investigation. Its attention to addiction and sex work asks a viewer to resist the shorthand of a headline. Family research informed the reconstruction, but it remains a dramatisation, with grief and exploitation making it difficult viewing.
