Unbelievable (2019)

Marie has to continue living after reporting a rape and then being pressured into withdrawing her account. The eight-part dramatisation gives that aftermath space alongside a separate investigation. Kaitlyn Dever's performance and the different survivors' responses resist a single model of credible trauma. Sexual violence, institutional disbelief and repeated questioning make this demanding rather than reassuring.
