The Gilded Age (2022)

New York's old-money families and wealthy newcomers fight over who gets admitted to a social world whose rules they would prefer to control. Carrie Coon makes an invitation or a seating arrangement feel like a tactical decision. The romance sits inside a larger ensemble of marriages, work and status. It is especially satisfying if Bridgerton's competing households interested you as much as the season's main couple.
