Aamis (2019)

Assamese, directed by Bhaskar Hazarika. Shared meals allow a married doctor and a younger researcher to develop an intimacy they struggle to name directly. The apparently gentle attention to appetite gradually becomes something much more disturbing. An inventive choice for adventurous viewers interested in desire and taboo, with escalating bodily horror that makes it a poor recommendation for a casual romantic evening.
