Trial & Error (2017)

The 2017 Trial & Error puts an inexperienced lawyer among a small-town team whose local knowledge can be helpful in very unexpected ways. Its mock-documentary format makes the supporting characters part of the investigation's comic machinery. Pick it if Only Murders' suspiciously distinctive neighbours are as appealing as the central sleuths. This is broad, affectionate legal absurdity with a different main case in each of its two seasons, rather than realistic courtroom practice.
