The Leftovers (2014)

After an unexplained disappearance changes the world, the people in The Leftovers try to organise grief into rituals, certainties and ways of carrying on. It connects to Yellowjackets through the emotional use of belief and the difficulty of living after an event nobody can fully explain. Pick it for an adult ensemble whose experiences matter more than a mechanical answer to the premise. Its three-season story reaches an ending without converting every uncertainty into a solved fact.
