The Purge (2018)

The 2018 American television extension of the films explores a society that authorises an annual interval of extreme violence. Its two seasons examine both the event and the lives organised around it. This is a particularly harsh English-language route: wealth purchases protection while others absorb the danger. It offers social machinery rather than another identical competition.
