Mozart in the Jungle (2014)

An oboist's attempt to establish herself inside an orchestra meets a conductor whose charisma does not make institutional politics disappear. If watching Beth's private thought become performance was the pleasure, listening to rehearsal and interpretation offers a different route into it. The four-season dramedy is lighter than Beth's story, with mentors who are inspiring and frequently exasperating rather than simply wise.
