Jimmy Choo

Choo learned shoemaking from his father in Penang, then studied design at Cordwainers in London with his father's financial support. Factory work and his own East End shop followed. His account makes the combination unusually clear: hand skills came first, but further training, family help and publicity were important in finding customers for the finished shoes.
